Xylene aromatic hydrocarbon | xylene msds | xylene formula | xylene uses

XYLEN  aromatic hydrocarbon

Description:

Xylene is an aromatic hydrocarbon, an organic compound created along with benzene and toluene by extraction and distillation in the petroleum refining process known as catalytic reforming. Xylene is also created from coal carbonisation in the manufacture of coke fuel. Representing about 0.5–1% of crude oil, depending on the source, xylenes are hence found in small amounts in gasoline and airplane fuels. Xylene is mainly produced as part of the BTX aromatics.Xylene is produced by dehydrocyclodimerization and by methylating of toluene and benzene.Xylene is used as a solvent. It is used in the laboratory to make baths with dry ice to cool reaction vessels, and as a solvent to remove synthetic immersion oil from the microscope objective in light microscopy

Benzene chemical formula, density, molecular weight, molar mass, boiling point

Description:

Benzene is an organic chemical compound. It is a natural constituent of crude oil, and may be synthesized from other compounds present in petroleum. It is an aromatic hydrocarbon and the second [n]-annulene ([6]-annulene), a cyclic hydrocarbon with a continuous pi bond. It is also related to the functional group arene which is a generalized structure of benzene. Benzene is used mainly as an intermediate to make other chemicals. It is an important industrial solvent and precursor in the production of drugs, plastics, synthetic rubber, and dyes.
